Mama in the morning…

Then and Now

There is a little girl in my psyche trying to make sense of the whole world.
She doesn’t under stand why mama is sleeping or how her hunger can cut so deep and last so long.
She needs to get ready for school. She needs to be dressed, fed, out together but her mother still sleeps.
